The Kenyan law it follows
- Bills of Exchange Act Cap 27 — s.84 (a promissory note is an unconditional promise in writing, signed by the maker, to pay on demand or at a fixed or determinable future time a sum certain in money to, or to the order of, a specified person or to bearer), s.9 (a sum is certain although payable with interest or by stated instalments with a provision that on default the whole becomes due; where words and figures differ the words prevail), s.85 (the note is incomplete until delivered), s.89 (liability of the maker)
